About Nathan Slater
Australian born/Melbourne based guitarist and composer Nathan Slater has has become a unique and powerful voice in the local scene and is emerging as one of the most exciting and original musical voices in the country. His virtuosic playing couples with his approach to the traditions of Spanish, Argentinian and Brazilian music. Beyond the command of his instrument, Nathan Slaters voice has an honest and beautiful timbre and has become an unexpected highlight of the live show. His Musical upbringing has been very diverse, studying traditions such as Jazz, Flamenco, Tango, and the music of Brazil. His playing and compositional approach reflects these influences, creating music that is rich, elegant and deeply moving
Nathan has been a sideman and led his own ensemble since moving to Melbourne in 2004. He has performed, recorded, toured nationally and internationally with such artists as Gian Slater Trio, Arte Kanela, La Rumba, One night in Buenos Aires, Ross James Irwin, and Australian tango Champion dancers Fabio Robles and Ana Andre.
